Public Art Policy Update. Katie Zoss and Blake went to the City Council Study Session
on Tuesday Nov. 14th, and the council was very positive about the Public Art Policy. The only
conversation was about the approval process.
Option A : LCC will evaluate public art proposals, create public notices for information
and feedback, then using this new information, the LCC will reevaluate, and present the best
option to City Council, who will put the proposal on the agenda for approval.
However, City Council asked for Option B, which takes the City Council approval process out of
the loop, and replaces it with an appeals process if there is an issue. However, this is different
from the LCC Charter, which would need to be changed, per the city attorney.
Jennifer thanked Katie for moving the Public Art Policy forward.
1
