Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Date: 10-2-08 <br />Louisville Library <br />7:00 PM <br />I. Call to Order -Chairperson Megan Valentine called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm <br />II. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Katy Brown, Megan Cousins, Ruby Dickson, <br />Sierra Ehlertm Katelynn Johnson, Austin Lawrence, Charlie Light, Luc Polglaze, Nicole Polglaze, Hannah <br />Tienken, Megan Valentine, Samantha Webster <br />Members Absent: none <br />Staff Members Present: Mandy Perera, Kriska Daltonhurst, Frost Yarnell, Peggy Jones <br />III. Approval of Agenda -Agenda was approved. <br />IV. Approval of Minutes -approved <br />V. Public Comments <br />*Put together money to put a brick in the new LMS building <br />* Luc said it would be a cool idea to have baseball caps for the YAB <br />VI. Pertinent Items not on Agenda- None <br />VII. Elect YAB Secretary for the 2008-2009 term- Katelynn Johnson was elected secretary <br />VIII. Betsy Janowak-VP of The Community Project will discuss charity even in November <br />*Charity event was postponed until the spring <br />*Other events and activities that they could use YAB help with might include: <br />*Computers to intercity kids, via the YES Institute, who can't obtain one- roughly aday-long project <br />* kids between 9-17 <br />* YAB would train kids how to use acomputer- open a file, save, etc... <br />* Microsoft requires the training for all recipients <br />* Clean water to Africa- collaborate with WaterCan- Canada <br />*Alex Andrews, Executive Director: 720 334 1249 <br />* Betsy or Alex would be available to help YAB members write a grant for a project <br />IX. Discuss sister city project information <br />* City managers- looking for along-term commitment <br />* Possibly too much due to cost and time... <br />X. Discuss other city boards functions and duties and sign up to attend board meetings for the next <br />month <br />* SIGN UP! For a meeting between now and November 28th <br />XI.
