Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />October 15, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />IX. Committee Reports <br />A. Facility Management - An update for 2008 will be given at the November <br />meeting. <br />B. Community Education <br />1. Information on video cameras for the oral history project was presented. It <br />was decided that the approval of the selection and purchase of equipment <br />should take place at a future meeting. The Community Education <br />Committee will continue to plan the filming and editing of oral history <br />interviews. <br />2. An oral history training workshop for the Community Education Committee <br />and other interested volunteers will take place on Saturday, November 22 <br />at 10 a.m. at the Louisville Public Library. It is being conducted by <br />representatives from the Carnegie Branch Library for Local History who are <br />very familiar with conducting oral history interviews. <br />C. Events and Fundraising <br />1. Commission members will decorate the Museum for the holidays on <br />Saturday, November 29tH at 9 AM. <br />2. Volunteers for the Museum Open House during the Parade of Lights will be <br />determined in November. <br />3. Meredyth Muth will check on whether it is possible to have the parade route <br />extend past the Museum. <br />4. Holiday Home Tour <br />a. Commission members will be asked to each sell five tickets. <br />b. Craft vendors for the Methodist Church and most hosts for the five <br />houses are confirmed. <br />c. Flyers advertising the Home Tour are to be placed in businesses by <br />November 17tH <br />d. Tickets will be sold at the Museum, Library and other locations. Some of <br />these locations still need to be confirmed. <br />e. Volunteers for the Museum on the day of the Home Tour will be <br />determined in November. <br />f. Information on the Holiday ornaments will be given at the November <br />meeting. <br />g. The Events and Fundraising Committee plans to meet prior to the <br />November Commission meeting. <br />D. Membership <br />1. 86 new members have joined since the beginning of the year. <br />2. Membership renewals will be sent out in mid November. <br />3. The Membership Committee plans to meet prior to the November <br />Commission meeting. <br />E. Volunteers: No new information <br />F. Public Relations: The Pioneer Award was discussed, with the award recipient <br />to be decided at the November meeting. Dave Ferguson volunteered to give <br />the award presentation at the Chamber of Commerce banquet. Don Ross was <br />thanked for his many years of giving the presentation. <br />G. Mine Marker Project: No new information <br />
