Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 14, 2017 <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />Fahey asked if the sustainability studies could be promoted to immediate goals. She suggested <br />partnering with the sustainability staff member. She added that the Citizen Survey listed <br />sustainability as a priority and that it would make sense to show how preserving a historic <br />structure is more sustainable than tearing it down and building a new structure. <br />Ritchie stated that the sustainability staff member who was part-time accepted a full-time <br />position in another jurisdiction. <br />Fahey suggested that someone in the Planning Department could work on sustainability or the <br />Sustainability Board and the Historic Commission could partner. <br />Trice stated that Fahey could volunteer for it. Trice would check if the Sustainability Board would <br />be interested in a partnership with Historic Preservation. <br />ITEMS FROM STAFF <br />Posting Locations and Open Government Pamphlet <br />The Historic Preservation Commission must acknowledge the following by acclamation: <br />Establish the following locations for posting of agendas <br />o City Hall <br />o Library <br />o Recreation/Senior Center <br />o Police Department/Court <br />o City web site (www.LouisvilleCO.gov) <br />Acknowledged by voice vote. <br />2018 Meeting Dates <br />Regular meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Monday of every month in Council Chambers <br />(2nd floor of City Hall, 749 Main Street.) Please note: January 22nd and February 12th are special <br />meeting dates. <br />Acknowledged by voice vote. <br />Election of Officers, Historical Commission Liaison <br />The open positions are Chairperson and Vice -Chairperson. The Historic Preservation <br />Commission can also appoint a Historical Commission Liaison. The Liaison would attend the <br />Historical Commission meetings. The Historical Commission meets every two months on the <br />first Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the Library Meeting Room. <br />Fahey nominated Haley for Chair and Cyndi Thomas for Vice -Chair and Chuck Thomas for <br />Historic Commission Liaison. Dickinson seconded all three nominations. Roll call. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Trice stated that she would be asking for a date for the landmarking ceremony in May and <br />commissioners to man the First Friday Art Walk booth. She invited commissioners to let her <br />know dates they were unavailable for the landmarking ceremony. She noted that usually the <br />Mayor's schedule dictated the landmarking ceremony date. <br />Demolition Updates <br />904 Lincoln Avenue. On December 19, 2017, Planning Staff and two HPC members reviewed a <br />request to construct an addition and demolish the garage at 904 Lincoln Avenue. After <br />deliberation, the HPC subcommittee decided to release the permit because of the minimal <br />impact on the architectural integrity of the structure. <br />
