Revitalization Commission
Minutes
January 8, 2018
Page 3of3
Scope of work asks for conceptual drawings. Commissioner Gorsevski said to spell out
what drawings we are asking for: floor plans, elevations, rendering.
Mayor Muckle said his questions have been covered; unintended street issues getting in
and out of the structure.
City Manager Balser said a review team will review RFP responses. A different group
will assist in providing direction to the consultant. Suggestion provided to include people
from the neighborhood and have some overlap of the two teams.
Council must also approve the conceptual RFP for parking structure.
Randy Caranci is disappointed at this approach. He has offered Mill Site property for
underground parking structure. No one has discussed it with him. He said smaller
parking pockets have been discussed in the past and his site offers 88 spaces.
Commissioner Lathrop said we don't know if Randy's proposal is superior to something
else. This project will give us information to give us information for decision making. He
gave an idea to Council and staff.
DeJong asked for input on timing. Final version presented at next meeting.
Commissioners should email DeJong with additional comments. He will present it to
Council. Commissioners said there is no hurry on this as DeJong will be out of office for
6 — 8 weeks. The timeline can be discussed at next meetings.
Mayor asked to add simple assessment of the costs for the underground component of a
parking structure. Commissioners were in agreement.
Items for Next Meeting February 12, 2018
Parking Structure RFP
Commissioner Comments:
none
Adjourn — The meeting adjourned at 8:15 am
