Louisville Local Licensing Authority
Meeting Date: May 12, 2003

AUTHORITY BUSINESS

Modification of Premises - MARSO LLC, d/b/a The Huckleberry- Hotel &
Restaurant Liquor License - 700 Main Street.

Lenny Martinelli, owner of The Huckleberry, approached the Authority.

Member Wilson asked questions about the diagram of premises regarding the
modification. Namely, where would the refrigerated liquor be stored? Mr.
Martinelli pointed out where the walk-in refrigerator was located, which would
house the liquor, and noted it would be locked. Member Paige asked where
kegs were kept. Mr. Martinelli replied he did not have any kegs.

Member Paige then asked Mr. Martinelli if he understood a request for
modification of premises was to be submitted before any modifications Were
done. Mr. Martinelli noted he had made a mistake and didn't know he needed
permission before making changes. He stated the liquor is much more stable
than it had been before the modifications were made. The bar is less accessible
for employees and only bartenders are allowed behind the bar itself.

Mr. Martinelli explained liquor storage was in the basement in an office, which
remains locked. Member Wilson noticed the diagram did not have the bar area
marked, She requested Mr. Martinelli submit a new drawing with more details
included.

Member Wilson made a motion to approve the modification of premises of
MARSCO, LLC, d/b/a The Huckleberry contingent upon the licensee providing a
new drawing of the premises. Member Paige seconded. Roll call vote:
Kimmett-yes, Paige-yes, Wilson-yes. All were in favor. Motion passed.

Member Kimmett then explained he had received information from Deputy City Clerk
Schmidt regarding Little Tokyo and wondered if the matter should be added to authority
business. Attorney Bleau recommended the item be discussed under the secretary's
report and no action be taken since all members of the Authority were not present.

Member Wilson made a motion to amend the agenda to include payment of a renewal
liquor license by Little Tokyo under authority business. Member Paige seconded the
motion. Roll Call Vote: Kimmett-yes, Paige-yes, Wilson-yes. Motion passed.

Deputy City Clerk Schmidt explained she had received a returned check from Little
Tokyo for a renewal liquor license. It had been returned with an explanation of "refer to
maker". Deputy Schmidt then called the bank to clarify why the check had been

2
G:\LIQUOR\2003\MINUTES\MINUTES MAY 03.DOC
