Sec. 2.12.020 — Court of record. <br />The Louisville Municipal Court is established as a qualified municipal <br />court of record as defined under C.R S. § 13-10-102. There shall be kept a <br />verbatim record of all proceedings and evidence presented at tnals in the <br />municipal court by either electnc device or stenographic means. <br />Sec. 2.12.030 — Jurisdiction. <br />The municipal court shall have exclusive onginal jurisdiction to hear, try, <br />and determine all alleged violations of the ordinances of the city. The municipal <br />court is further vested with junsdiction over matters ansing under the Charter and <br />ordinances of the City <br />Sec. 2.12.040 — Powers. <br />The municipal judge shall have the power to issue local rules of operation <br />or procedure consistent with any rules of procedure adopted by the state supreme <br />court The municipal judge shall have all powers incident to a court of record in <br />relation to the attendance of witnesses, the punishment of contempt, and to <br />enforcing the orders of court, provided, that no impnsonment for contempt shall <br />exceed six months and no fine for such case shall exceed $1,000.00. <br />Sec. 2.12.050 — Deputy municipal judges. <br />A The City Council shall appoint, by the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds (2/3) of the entire Council, such deputy municipal judges as the Council <br />deems necessary. <br />B. Each deputy municipal judge shall be appointed for a two (2) year <br />term, except that the initial appointment may be for a term which expires on the <br />date of the next regular election Any vacancy in the office of deputy municipal <br />judge shall be filled by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term. <br />C. Each deputy municipal judge shall be, at all times while serving as <br />judge, an attorney at law admitted to practice in Colorado. <br />Sec. 2.12.060 — Compensation. <br />The presiding municipal judge shall receive as full compensation for the <br />judge's services a yearly salary of $31,200.00 payable on a monthly basis of <br />$2,600.00 per month, effective January 1, 2016. Each deputy municipal judge <br />shall receive compensation for such deputy municipal judge's services as is set by <br />city council resolution <br />Ordinance No 1753, Senes 2018 <br />Page 12 of 62 <br />
