Feb. 5, 2018
Dear Planning Staff and Team and City of Louisville,
Ascent is proposing to build an attractive facility at 1326 S. 96th St. to be our permanent church home.
Ascent Community Church
PO Box 270173
Louisville, CO 80027
303.518.8084
ascentcc.org
The building will have a 900+ seat auditorium. Its heaviest use will be for Sunday services but also community
events hosted by BVSD, the City of Louisville (ex. Police trainings) and local non -profits (I Have a Dream
Foundation and others). We will have rooms for our Sunday children's program that can be used for other events
during the week. Our outdoor gathering space should be a great venue for everything from weddings to soccer
practice for local teams. We propose a playground we hope becomes a hub for parents to bring their kids. We see
this space as an incredible venue for community to be built.
Heaviest use will be on Sunday mornings between the hours of 8am-noon but may include future services at
different hours, either late evening or on the weekends. We have programs at the church building other days during
the week that include events for mothers of young kids, middle and high school students. Again, we frequently
donate our space for uses by the City, BVSD and local non -profits. We will continue to do that in our new space.
The property will include around 400 parking spaces. Section 2.2.1.K calls for one parking space to every three
seats in the "Theater." A complete traffic study is included in this application.
The existing house on the property will remain and be used as space that can be used by various groups as well as
serve as office/meeting space.
Our proposed development does not exceed FAR requirements:
Existing House (above ground, finished) — 3,176 sq ft (Located in Zone 2b)
Proposed Building — 48,623 TOTAL sq ft: 48,572 sq ft in Zone 2b, 51 sq ft in Zone 2c.
Total Allowable FAR in Zone 2B — 51,924 sq ft
Total Proposed Sq ft in Zone 2B — 51,748 sq ft (176 sq ft remains)
We anticipate all items — including FAR requirements, building height, placement, grading, parking, etc. will all be
built according to City Design Standards. The only possible exception to be requested would be in allowing Ascent
to not plant trees to the immediate west of our building on the street so as not to ruin the view corridor.
Thank you so much for considering this application and please contact me with any questions you have.
Best,
Jim Candy
Co -Pastor
Ascent Church
650-380-1609
To Know. Be Known. Make Him Known.
