City Council Legal Review Committee <br />January 4, 2018 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Members decided that once the rules have been adopted, Council will review <br />how they are working in six months. After that the rules should be reviewed every <br />two years. <br />Members reviewed the draft rules and made edits including, clarifying the voting <br />language, adding language regarding the actions that may happen, clarifying <br />voting language, and adding language regarding a motion to reconsider. A table <br />of common motions will be added to the Rules. <br />Members discussed an email request to adjust the publication schedule of the <br />packet and to publish all City Council emails. No decisions were made. <br />Councilmember Leh moved to accept the suggested changes to the Rules that <br />the Committee discussed today and recommend this version to the full City <br />Council. Councilmember Loo seconded the motion. All in favor. <br />Staff will incorporate today's changes into the next version. That draft will be <br />presented for full Council consideration at the February 6 Regular City Council <br />Meeting. <br />LAWSUIT SETTLEMENTS/LITIGATION UPDATES <br />City Attorney Light gave a short litigation update. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING <br />Councilmember Leh stated he would like the discuss the following at the next <br />committee meeting: discussion of how the Court is working; changes in <br />marijuana enforcement form the Department of Justice; and the work plan for the <br />committee for 2018. <br />ADJOURN <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm. <br />
