II: City, Louisville COLORADO- SINCE 1.878 Youth Advisory Board Minutes March 1, 2018 Louisville Recreation & Senior Center 900 W Via Appia 6:30-8 PM I. Call to Order — Chairperson Kaylix McClure called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. II. Roll Call ▪ Board Members Present: Megan Beasley, Caelis Hanna, Teddy Hart, Riley MacQueen, Kaylix McClure, Kaelan Norgard, Hayley Obremski, Logan Pius, Courtney Schumann ▪ Board Members Absent: Taitum Berryhill, Riley Miller (excused), Addison Nakari (excused), Langley Nakari, Brooke Newell (excused), Ainsley Smith (excused), Kendall Weideman Staff Liaisons Present: Mandy Perera, Jessica Schwartz Staff Liaisons Absent: Jay Keany III. Approval of Minutes — The minutes from the February meeting were approved by all members IV. Approval of Agenda — The agenda was approved, noting that Lauren Trice has moved her visit to the April meeting. V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda — None VI. Visit from Ember Brignull (Open Space Advisory Board) — Ember told us about some current projects OSAB is working on, such as a new trail near Fireside Elementary, and a project at Coyote Run. The board is concerned with resource management, and finding a balance between parks and open space. Once of OSAB's major accomplishments was getting a full-time ranger hired. Ember told us about an initiative they are promoting called Generation Wild (aimed at getting youth outdoors) and offered us the opportunity to volunteer at an event in May called Kids to Parks. VII. Upcoming volunteer projects • St. Patrick's Day event — Thurs., March 15 from 5pm-7pm at the Rec Center. (Mandy will send out Sign Up Genius by the end of next week) • April — Soup Kitchen, Thurs., April 19 VIII.
