Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />February 12, 2018 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Business Matters of Commission <br />Parking Structure RFP <br />Economic Development Director DeJong addressed the updated Parking Structure RFP <br />and asked the LRC members if they had any final changes to consider prior to taking <br />this document to City Council. The draft schedule would have the contractor on board in <br />June, 2018. <br />Commissioner Gorsevski suggested that for bidding purposes a specific number of <br />meetings should be used and ask for separate costs for additional meetings if needed. <br />He also suggested the Appendix not exceed 15-20 pages. <br />Commission Menaker suggested costs for above ground vs underground parking be part <br />of the bid in order to be able to show the balance of height vs cost and consider wiring <br />for alternative fuel vehicles. <br />Input for 2019-20 City Budget <br />Economic Development Director DeJong asked the Board for input. City Council is <br />requesting information from all of the Boards and Commissions regarding items to be <br />included in the 2019-20 Budget. Specific areas are the City Operating Budget and the 6 <br />year Capital Improvement Plan Budget. <br />Suggestions for items to consider included: <br />• Funding to assist with facilitating a redevelopment of the former Sam's Club <br />• Funding to assist in Storagetek <br />• Streetscaping improvements to make a more pleasant connection between <br />Superior Town Center and McCaslin Area <br />• Streetscaping improvements for Downtown <br />• Widen medians on McCaslin to increase safety <br />• Safety enhancements at Hwy 42 and South Boulder Road <br />• Funding for an underpass at Highway 42 and Short Street <br />• Consider making Highway 42 a local road rather than CDOT control <br />Regional Detention Pond Funding Discussion: <br />Economic Development Director DeJong requested direction from LRC on whether <br />to allow future property owners within the Core Area to utilize the regional <br />detention pond without needing to reimburse the LRC for their pro -rata share. <br />Chairman Fisher stated no objection to waiving the fees. <br />Commissioner Menaker suggested a letter be sent to all current property owners stating <br />that when and if redevelopment occurs, LRC is willing to waive detention costs. <br />Highway 42 and Short Signal Update <br />Wrapping up construction easement agreements with Coal Creek Collision and Old Style <br />Sausage. <br />
