Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 14, 2017 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />ITEMS FROM STAFF <br />Demolition Updates <br />624 Pine Street <br />On January 25, 2018, Planning Staff and two HPC members reviewed a request to replace the <br />roof at 624 Pine Street. After deliberation, the HPC subcommittee decided to release the permit <br />because of the existing roofing material was not original. <br />Cyndi Thomas invited comments on the items from staff. None. <br />Upcoming Schedule <br />March <br />19th — Historic Preservation Commission Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers <br />April <br />16th — Historic Preservation Commission meeting, 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers <br />May <br />4th — First Friday, 5-8 p.m., Museum <br />19th — Landmark Ceremony, TBD <br />21St— Historic Preservation Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers <br />Trice stated that the Landmark Ceremony will be held on the 19th of May and will hopefully <br />involve the unveiling of interpretive signs. <br />UPDATES FROM COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Cyndi Thomas asked for updates from commission members. <br />Dickinson stated that Louisville Live was hosting a live music event on Main Street on May 26th <br />to use historic areas for events such as live music events. The idea came from ideas at Saving <br />Places and thinking about how to use a downtown space as a community gathering area. The <br />idea was to hold live music semi-annually. The first event had 22 bands and the second had 18 <br />bands. All the venues in Louisville have live music and there is no ticket cost. <br />ITEMS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR THE REGULAR MEETING MARCH 19, 2018 <br />Interpretive Signs <br />Trice stated that staff and the applicant were still working on the proofs but they should be ready <br />by the next meeting. <br />Cyndi Thomas asked for an update on the historic contexts. <br />Trice stated that staff had the residential context was completed and staff was working on the <br />commercial one. She had planned on having a presentation on all three at once, when they <br />were all. She stated that the Commission could request to have a presentation on the residential <br />context first once it was complete. <br />Cyndi Thomas stated that she was eager to read it. <br />Trice stated that she could include it in the next packet, but she was hesitant to share it before <br />the formal presentation from PaleoWest Archaeological Consulting. <br />
