620 Grant Avenue Southwest Corner— Current Photo
ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION
The structure retains its overall form and appearance from the street. The L-shaped
structure creates a gable end facing Grant Avenue and a hipped -roof front porch. The
porch maintains folk Victorian details, including turned posts and decorative brackets,
which appear to be original. The door and window openings are in the same location
but the addition of vinyl siding after 1948 covered or removed the wood window
surrounds. The 1948 assessor shows an enclosed rear porch. Since 1948, the
construction of larger rear addition added over 400 SF to the structure.
The assessor included documentation of a small, gable -roofed outbuilding on this
property in 1948. The outbuilding still exists although its current location is closer to the
alley. The outbuilding still has wood shiplap siding but it appears the windows and door
were replaced.
3
