The Vision Statem nt and Core Com
nity Values
The 20 Year Plan for the City of Louisville has two pri-
m ry components which guide the direction and im le -
m ntation of the 2012 Com rehensive Plan Update.
The first keycom onent is the Vision Statem nt and
Core Comm nity Values. The Vision Statem nt and Core
Com nity Values are supported by the second key
com onent, the Fram work Plan.
Louisville's Vision Statem nt and Core Com nity
Values define how the City sees itself and identify
characteristics that should be carried into the future.
The Vision Statem nt and Core Com nity Values
were developed through extensive public outreach and
represent the views of residents, business and property
owners, and elected and appointed offi ials. The Vision
Statem nt and Core Com nity Values serve as the
rubric against which the Fram work Plan was devel-
oped and how future City policies and decisions should
be evaluated. All of the recom ndations, principles,
and policies in this Com rehensive Plan are designed to
further the goals of the Vision Statem nt and Core Com
m nity Values.
The Framework Plan illustrates Louisville's com nity
character and developm nt expectations verbalized
in the Vision Statem nt and Core Com nity Values.
Together, the Vision Statem nt and Core Com nity
Values visualized by the Fram work Plan represent the
long-range integrated land use, transportation and natu-
ral resource vision for the City.
17
tretti
Vision Statem nt
Established in 1878, the City of Louisville is an inclusive, fam ly-friendly com nity that
m nages its continued growth by blending a forward -thinking outlook with a sm II -town
atm sphere which engages its citizenry and provides a walkable com nity form that
enables social interaction.
