Louisville as the City is strongly influenced by the U.S. Highway 36 corridor from Denver <br />to Boulder, proximity to nearby national laboratories and universities, easy access to <br />Denver International Airport, and numerous world-class recreational and cultural <br />opportunities. <br />MAJOR INITIATIVES IN 2017 <br />Strategic Goals and Strategies <br />The City of Louisville Home Rule Charter states that the City's mission is to provide basic <br />municipal services in an efficient and cost-effective manner and maintain the qualities that <br />make Louisville unique by protecting and preserving the City's scenic, historic, and <br />aesthetic features through open and ethical government in which every member of the <br />community has an opportunity to participate. To help achieve this mission, the City uses <br />a program -based budget with the 10 program areas listed below. Each of the 10 program <br />areas is further divided into sub -programs in which revenues and expenditures are <br />tracked.
