Revitalization Commission Minutes August 31, 2018 Page 2 of 2 Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda None Reports of Commission None Business Matters of Commission Parking Structure Conceptual Design Discussion Representatives from Desman Associates briefly recapped important issues discussed at the LRC meeting on July 30, 2018, and gave a presentation on concept schemes one through five and massing study for each option. Items of discussion included: ■ Site Plan and Level 1 Floor Plan ■ Parking Space Tabulation and Parking Efficiency ■ Opinion of Construction Hard Cost of the Garage ■ Massing Models A few items of concern were brought up regarding cross traffic flow through the alleyway and land swap proposals. Of the LRC members, Option 3 (N/S orientation, traditional layout) was the front-runner, but they are interested to hear what comes from the public meeting and City Council input. Option 1 (E/W orientation traditional layout) was of interest as well due to its low height and parking efficiency. Economic Development Director Aaron DeJong announced a meeting with City Council is tentatively scheduled for September 25, 2018, to obtain input regarding the conceptual designs, and City staff and Desman Associates were planning to hold a community open house prior to September 25th, to gather input for City Council. LRC members desired facade treatments to be included as part of a public meeting. Achieving facade design prior to the public meeting will push those meetings into October. The Mayor said that would be fine from a City Council perspective.
