Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />August 27, 2018 <br />Page4of5 <br />Machado stated the Authority wants the liquor licensees to know the police <br />department in Louisville works hard to be involved in helping them succeed and <br />do the right thing. He encouraged them to work cooperatively with the police <br />department. Mr. McGrew noted he welcomes that relationship. <br />Lipton asked if they had expanded the square footage of this business. Mr. <br />McGrew said they had not and expected the occupancy to be about 65. <br />Machado moved the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville find the <br />applicant is of good moral character, the inhabitants of the neighborhood desire <br />the license be granted, the license will meet the reasonable requirements of the <br />neighborhood, all City and State law requirements have been met and, based on <br />these findings, the Local Licensing Authority approve issuance of a hotel and <br />restaurant liquor license for Miles Sports Pub Inc. doing business as Miles Sports <br />Pub & Grub. Watson seconded. All in favor. License approved. <br />B. Transfer Application — Via Toscana LLC d/b/a Via Toscana — Hotel and <br />Restaurant Liquor License — 356 McCaslin Blvd. <br />Carlson called the item. Secretary Hanson noted one of the applicants, Sean <br />Snyder was present. Mr. Snyder noted he had been with the restaurant 15 years <br />and his business partner had been with them 10 years. Their plan is to keep it <br />much the same. <br />Lipton remarked the restaurant had done a good job of not having any liquor <br />violations. <br />Lipton moved the Authority approve the transfer of ownership to Via Toscana <br />LLC d/b/a Via Toscana. Machado seconded. All in favor. <br />C. Public Hearing - Special Events Permit Application — Superior Rugby <br />Football Club — Community Park — September 28 and 29, 2018 <br />Carlson noted the applicant has requested a change in the days and times for <br />this event. Attorney Culley noted the applicant is asking the hearing be vacated. <br />The change in days and times required a new posting of the location which is <br />now in place. <br />D. Conversation with Chief Hayes <br />The Chief was unable to attend and sent his apologies. <br />E. Discussion/Schedule Open Government Training <br />Hanson noted the requirement for authority members to attend open government <br />training every two years.
