Library Board of Trustees <br />Meeting Minutes —DRAFT <br />July 12, 2018 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />A. Because of member unavailability, the next LBOT meeting was moved to Thursday, <br />September 20. The change was approved by unanimous consent. <br />B. The "On the same page" reading program was explained by Daryl McCool and <br />Director Campbell. The subject book is Killers of the Flower Moon, by David <br />Grann. Informal outreach about the program is being conducted by Daryl McCool <br />and President Schuman. Member Hammerly will post electronic notices about the <br />program in Superior. Book discussions and on on-stage reading will occur in <br />September. <br />C. A thank you note from Library staff to the LBOT for providing the Luncheon was <br />circulated. <br />VIII. Ongoing Business <br />IX. <br />A. Library Director Search. Kathleen Hix (HR) was not present so Director Campbell presented <br />the timetable for the Library Director search. Action: Secretary Chamberlin requested to see <br />the updated job description and Director Campbell will try to obtain it from HR. Action: <br />President Schuman will contact HR to find out how the LBOT will be represented in the <br />candidate screening and interview process. Action: Member Hammerly will participate in the <br />interview process representing Superior. <br />B. Louisville City Council update (A. Stoltzman): (i) Councilpersons Stolzman and Loo are working <br />with XCEL on a "smart" street light proposal; (ii) Louisville is joining the Colorado Communities <br />for Climate Action to help lobby the state legislature on relevant issues; (iii) the city will be <br />recruiting a new Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Director to replace the one who just <br />retired. <br />C. Superior Board of Trustees update (S. Hammerly): (i) Development of the new Superior Town <br />Center continues. A community space in the middle of the "Sports Stable" complex is being <br />considered and this new space may also be used to site digital library services; (ii) construction <br />on McCasliin is causing traffic issues; (iii) a new charter high school is being proposed to be sited <br />on the corner of McCaslin and Colton; (iv) a new Testa purchasing and servicing facility may be <br />built at Marshal Road and McCaslin. <br />D. Library Foundation liaison report (R. Gurganus): Member Gurganus was not present. However, <br />there has not been a Foundation meeting since the last LBOT meeting so there may be nothing to <br />new to report. The next Foundation meeting will be in September. <br />E. LBOT Handbook update: The handbook revision was not ready to be presented to the LBOT so <br />this business will be continued to the next regular meeting. <br />F. Little Libraries. Actions: (i) the LBOT will give some form of public thanks to the Eagle Scout <br />who erected the three new little libraries; (ii) President Schuman volunteered to keep the new <br />little libraries stocked; (iii) President Schuman will give Secretary Chamberlin the Eagle Scout <br />contact information so that Chamberlin can follow up with the scout troop to see if they are <br />interested in helping with sustaining the new little libraries. <br />G. Realtor packets: Since the last LBOT meeting no new library card applications have resulted <br />from this project <br />X. Director's Report: (i) The summer reading program is a big success with more substantially more <br />readers from all age groups signed up for it; (ii) the library remodeling is almost complete; (iii) <br />
