11: City,/ im Louisville COLORADO • SINCE 1878 BUSINESS RETENTION AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE SUBJECT: DATE: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE OCTOBER 1, 2018 PRESENTED BY: AARON DEJONG, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT McCaslin Area RFP The City's hired consultants, EPS and Trestle Strategy, have begun the McCaslin Area market study project. They are currently working on the market analysis and stakeholder outreach components. They are planning to have a booth at the farmer's market in the coming weeks. City Council is currently scheduled to receive an update at their October 16, 2018 meeting. Staff will keep BRaD informed of upcoming input opportunities for the project. The options can be found at the webpage below. Desman Associates are preparing fagade options for the LRC to review at their October 8, 2018 meeting. http://www.louisvilleco.gov/business/economic-development/parking-structure-rfp Phillips 66 Parcel The Phillips 66 / former Storagetek property in southeast Louisville is again on the market for purchase. Some groups are interested in the site and Phillips 66's brokers are in discussions with different parties. Staff will be informed if or when a purchase contract is executed with a new group. Small Business Saturday City Staff is working on a thoughtful campaign to assist in promoting Small Business Saturday (Nov. 24, 2018). We will be promoting Small Business Saturday through a new page on our website: (www.LouisvilleCO.gov/SmallBusinessSaturday). Businesses will be able to submit their SBS promotion/teaser/special/who we are to be included in the participating businesses list. Emails will start going out in October to the Chamber, DBA and City business contacts to encourage registration and share info. Staff is working on a logo that will be added to the page. The City is also planning to set up childcare at the Library on 11/24 for shoppers to access for a small fee.
