dwelling.
Thomas Talboom—On residences I don't thmk it will be that big a deal, more so on the
commercial side.
Do we want to have another meeting next month.
Giles Schurman—I would just say to adopt it in it's entirety, unless you have something that you
want to exclude or amend.
Thomas Talboom—There are probably some things which I would like to recommend. One of
them is, m the administrative chapter, conflicts between the codes. An example, is a revision in
the 97 code, when the requirements within the jurisdiction of this plumbing code conflict with
the requirements of the mechanical code this code shall prevail. I would like to strike that out.
Another provision has to do with licensing. Licensing plumbers should not be in the plumbing
code.
Greg Cullison—If there are some things that you take issue to,maybe that is what we need to
present at the next meeting and take a vote on that only
Thomas Talboom—I think appendix L is worth scrutinizing, for alternate plumbing systems.
Giles Schurman—Could you give us some material to digest at our next meeting as far as what
you want to do with the 1997 code and have us review that instead of the entire code.
Ray Schlott—I will put something together as far as a motion for the next meeting. Tom could
you please check on the wording m the previous ordinance with regard to fixture points.
Thomas Talboom—The 97 has become more in line with the low flow fixture points. On the
other hand it is requiring more fixtures. In the IPC you can substitute urinals for water closets.
In the UPC you have to add more water closets for potty parity
6. Discussion: Review of the 200 International Building,Residential,Mechanical,Fuel
Gas, and Energy Conservation Codes:
Ray Schlott—Are we going to run into the same problem.
Thomas Talboom—I have asked the City Admimstrator for some direction and his direction is to
continue review of the International Codes. The only one we may have a problem with is the
International Electrical Code.
Giles Schurman—You would have a lot of problems with that.
7. Set date for next meeting: Next meeting date was set for September 14,2000.
9
