Amendments to the International Plumbing Code Ordinance Amending Chapter 15 16 of the Louisville Municipal Code 1 Excluding trap arm. 2 Except sinks, urinals and dishwashers 3 Except six-unit traps or water closets 4 Only four(4)water closets or six-unit traps allowed on any vertical pipe or stack, and not to exceed three (3)water closets or six-unit traps on any horizontal branch or drain 5 Based on one-fourth (1/4) inch per foot slope. For one-eighth (1/8) inch per foot slope, multiply horizontal fixture units by a factor of 0 8 Note: The diameter of an individual vent shall not be less than one and one-fourth (1-1/4) inches nor less than one-half(1/2)the diameter of the drain to which it is connected Fixture unit load values for drainage and vent piping shall be computed from Tables 709.2 and 710 1(1) Not to exceed one-third (1/3) of the total permitted length of any vent may be installed in a horizontal position When vents are increased one (1) pipe size for their entire length, the maximum length limitations specified in this table do not apply Table 710.1(2)—Horizontal Fixture Branches and Stacks. Delete Table 710.1(2) in its entirety Section 711 —Offsets in Drainage Piping in Buildings of Five Stories or More. Delete Section 711 in its entirety. Section 712.2—Check and Gate Valve Required. Exception. Delete the Exception in its entirety Section 712.3.1 —Sump Pump. Amend by adding a sentence to read as follow "Dual pumps are required and shall be arranged to function independently in case of mechanical failure except that single-family residential occupancies may have single pump if an approved sensor and alarm system is installed. Section 712.4.1 —Capacity. Exception. Delete the Exception in its entirety Section 714—Computerized Drainage Design. Delete Section 714 in its entirety Section 802.4—Standpipes. Amend by adding a sentence as follows- "Standpipe traps shall not be located below the floor" Section 901.6—Engineered Systems. Delete Section 901 6 in its entirety Section 904.1 —Roof Extension. Amend by insertion of the number "6" inches and "152 4" mm in the brackets Section 904.6—Extension Through the Wall. Delete Section 904 1 in its entirety. Section 905.1 —Connection. Exception. Delete the Exception in its entirety Section 905.6—Side Inlet. Delete Section 905.6 in its entirety and amend as follow. "Side inlet quarter bends are prohibited."
