Revitalization Commission
Minutes
September 10, 2018
Business Matters of Commission
• Welcome New Legal Counsel Kathleen Kelly
Effective October 1, 2018, Kathleen Kelly will be replacing Sam Light as the
new legal counsel for the City. Sam is leaving Light Kelly P.C. to take on a new
role with the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA). Sam
has served as the LRC's legal counsel since his inception and will be missed.
Kathleen Kelly has been with the firm for many years and will continue the firm's
excellent service to the City and the LRC. Everyone gave a warm welcome to
Kathleen and wished Sam the best in his new adventure.
• 2019 LRC Budget Discussion
The LRC preliminary budget assessment by the County is being reduced from
$1.77 million to $1.61 million. This decrease in expected revenue adjusts other
expense totals. Final assessment numbers will be available in late November.
Staff will plan for a budget approval in the coming meetings.
• Figure out September Special Meeting for Parking Structure Design
Following a discussion, it was concluded that either September 25th or 27th,
2018, would work for a Special meeting. Actual date to be determined. Staff will
coordinate with the Consultant to see if those dates work.
• Determine New November Meeting Date (due to Veteran's Day)
Everyone agreed Tuesday, November 13, 2018, will be the November LRC
Regular meeting date.
Discussion Items for October 8, 2018 Regular Meeting
• Parking structure
• 2019 LRC budget
Commissioners Comments:
Commissioners mentioned concerns and had discussion regarding traffic lights/signs
at Short Street and Hwy 42. City staff continues to work with CDOT regarding these
issues.
Adjourn:
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 am.
