Please note that at this time there is no work plan item or funding to develop a new dog
recreation area in Louisville. Also, the results of the PPLAB/OSAB work would need to be
vetted more broadly in the community prior to being considered by City Council. Following
PPLAB/OSAB agreement, staff would need to develop and schedule a public engagement
plan that fits into the work plan and adopted budget.
Next Steps:
After OSAB and PPLAB provide input and guidance on any revisions to the draft "Best
Practices" staff will work with the Dog Tiger Team to develop a schedule for next steps in the
process. If additional changes require further work by the Dog Tiger Team, an additional
round of review and input may be needed by PPLAB and OSAB.
The long term goal of this effort is to achieve agreement in the community for adopting a
Louisville standard for developing, maintaining, and managing future dog recreation areas, if
funded and included in the work plan.
• Page 2
