Louisville Letter to RTD on 228 Route Changes

The City recognizes that future infrastructure changes in this area may occur (including the installation of a traffic signal at SH 42 and Hecla Drive), and will continue to work with RTD regarding any potential impacts or opportunities for improvements to the route that may result from these changes. The City of Louisville has received concerns from some neighbors regarding bus travel along Hecla Road, primarily related to safety. We recognize that RTD drivers are well -trained and safety is of the highest concern. We ask RTD to exercise the greatest caution in the areas where the route borders neighborhoods by minimizing speeds and raising awareness of the high - population of children, elderly, and individuals with disabilities who may be present in the area.
