In 1972, Guerino Melchior (1916-2009) and Lidia Colabello Melchior (1930-2002) purchased this
parcel that was identified at the time as 310-330 County Rd. They owned it until 1997. They
lived elsewhere in Louisville at the time and appear to have rented out the two structures at
both 310 and 330 County Rd. during their ownership. Lidia Colabello was born in 1930 in
Lupara, Italy. She married Guerino Melchior in Lupara in 1949. In the 1950s, her mother, Maria,
married Mike Colacci, who was the owner of the Blue Parrot Restaurant in Louisville. His first
wife, Mary, had died in 1949. In 1962, Lidia Colabello Melchior moved to Louisville to join her
mother and siblings. She worked for many years as a cook at her brother's restaurant in
Louisville. Called Luigi's, it was also known as "Blue Parrot II."
The following undated photo of 330 County Rd. was likely taken during the Melchior
ownership:
In 1997, Lidia Colabello Melchior and Guerino Melchior sold 310-330 County Rd. to their
daughter, Vera Toscano, and her husband, Umberto. (Umberto Toscano owned and operated
Umberto Auto Sales at 1100 Pine from 1980 to 2013.) Umberto and Vera Toscano owned 310-
330 County Rd. until 1998.
The current owners of record are Pedro and Christina Arzate. They purchased the parcel in
1998.
The preceding research is based on a review of relevant and available online County property records, census
records, oral history interviews, Louisville directories, and Louisville Historical Museum maps, files, and obituary
records.
5
