The sign was saved and the restaurant was rebuilt at the same location. The restaurant <br />reopened ten months after the fire. This photo, taken in February 1989, shows the sign <br />being reinstalled on the rebuilt structure: <br />The following pre-2014 undated photo shows the reconstructed building with the neon <br />sign illuminated. <br />A <br />In 2014, the Blue Parrot and the Downtown Business Association collaborated on the <br />installation of a mural that was added to the top of the building on the north and west <br />sides. Many of the images for the mural were donated for the project by the Louisville <br />Historical Museum. It is believed that it was in the same year that the neon sign was <br />removed to be refurbished.
