This small excerpt from the 1893 Sanborn fire insurance map shows that at that time, the building on <br />the south side of Lot 10 (724 Main) was a dwelling (as indicated by the "D"), and the building on the <br />north side of Lot 10 (728 Main) was an office (as indicated by "Off"): <br />The use of the property shown on the 1893 Sanborn map is consistent with what is known of Charles A. <br />Clark and his usage of the property as the owner. <br />Charles A. Clark also owned property on the site of Clarkson (believed to have been located east of <br />Louisville and south of Lafayette), where he had a creamery and cheese factory.
