William Koch Ownership
William Koch appears to have purchased 931 Main in 1917, but evidence of his living in the
house could not be located for earlier than 1930. He is shown as living in this location in the
1930 and 1940 censuses. Koch was born in Germany in 1866 and worked as a teamster. The
1943 directory was the last indication of his residence at 931 Main, and he died that year. He
appears to have never married.
Jennie Perrella Ownership
In 1943, Jennie Perrella purchased 931 Main. She lived next door to 931 Main (to the north) at
824 South with her husband, Rome Perrella, and their children. It is possible that the house was
rented out or used by relatives, since it was right next door to the Perrella home, but this could
not be confirmed.
The following screen captures are from a scene in the Louisville film "Our Boys and Girls in the
Armed Forces, 1943-44," made during this time period. They show 931 Main on the right.
