The son, Richard, became a nationally <br />known band leader and composer. <br />Development of the Capitol Hill Addition; Early Owners of Property <br />J.C. Williams, a mine superintendent, and Irving Elberson, a banker, were the developers <br />of the Capitol Hill Addition, the plat of which was filed with the County in 1904. <br />In 1906, this parcel plus Lot 9 to the south was purchased by Louisville resident Otto F. <br />Todd. He sold it to H.G. Dearing in 1920. Dearing sold Lot 9 to the owners of the house <br />at 1029 Grant, just to the south. In 1927, Dearing sold this parcel and it had a few <br />different owners between 1927 and 1931. <br />La Salle Family Ownership; Date of House Construction <br />In 1931, Antonio "Toney" W. La Salle became the owner of this property. By all <br />accounts, the house at 1041 Grant was also constructed in the year 1931. Toney W. La <br />Salle and his wife Katherine ("Kitty") ended up owning this house from 1931 until 1960. <br />Toney W. La Salle is remembered as having been a prominent Louisville businessman <br />who sold appliances, then furniture on Main Street in the early to mid 1900s. Along with <br />men like Lawrence Mossoni, Michael Colacci, E.J Di Francia, and Eliseo Jacoe, La Salle <br />was one of Louisville's prominent business leaders of Italian heritage. <br />1 <br />
