Vicki and Mick Gigone and their family lived in the original part of the house throughout the
remodeling. Louisville architect Wayne Kuhn did the plans for the house. This occurred
primarily in 1994. This remodeling included the following:
• Adding an addition to the north side. This was a living room with porch and front door.
This was put on first, but was finished second.
• Adding an addition to the east that was (north to south) a dining room, kitchen, laundry
room, and a new back door by the laundry room, all with a basement under them. This
was started second, but was finished first.
• Removing lead paint and repainting.
• Moving the "wash house." Lucia Fabrizio took in washing to support the family after her
husband died. It was by the old back door. Now it is by the alley.
The following photos are scenes showing the additions and remodel.
This shows the addition being added to the north, from the front of the house:
6
