Charles Dirkes is on the tricycle. <br />According to members of the Dirkes family, the garage that used to be located on the property <br />is now gone. <br />Later Owners <br />In 1958, Robert and Charlotte Dirkes sold 721 Mead to Charles and Joan Heffner. Directories <br />from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s show them to be living in the house. <br />The following excerpt from a 1962 aerial photo of Louisville (looking east, not north) shows the <br />house at 721 Mead to be the building located closest to the center of the photo, with a great <br />deal of open space still around it. The former location of the Acme Mine is on the left side. <br />5 <br />
