Statement of Significance <br />This building has been individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is historically significant, <br />relative to National Register Criterion A, for its association with commercial development in downtown Louisville <br />through the first half of the twentieth century. The building is architecturally significant as well, under National <br />Register Criterion C, as an excellent example of corner storefront commercial building dating from the very early <br />years of the twentieth century. The building is also Louisville's only remaining commercial building with a pressed <br />metal facade. <br />43. Assessment of historic physical integrity related to significance: <br />Considering its changes in use over the years, from a bank, to a post office, to a grocery store, to a restaurant, this <br />building has retained a remarkable share of its historical integrity. <br />
