Level of Significance:
National:
State:
Local: xx
42. Statement of Significance
As Louisville's most prominent (if not only) mortuary during the first half of the twentieth century, this property was
historically significant for its association with the community's socioeconomic development during these years. Due
to an almost complete loss of historical integrity, however, the property must be considered ineligible for individual
listing in the National Register of Historic Places. It would also be a non-contributing property within a potential
historic district.
43. Assessment of historic physical integrity related to significance:
This building's historical integrity was destroyed when it was converted to professional office and retail spaces in
the late 1970s or early 1980s. It no longer conveys a sense of its past historic significance. All associations of the
building's traditional use as a mortuary have been lost.
