Resource Number: 5BL 11320 <br />Temporary Resource Number: 157508415008 <br />Bill and Hazel Harris had three daughters: Eileen (Schmidt), Nadine (Caranci), and Joan (Angell). Bill and Hazel <br />divorced in 1938. <br />Savina Zarini died in 1942 and Peter Zarini died in 1947. Upon the death of Peter Zarini in 1947, Hazel Zarini Harris <br />ended up being the owner of this property and her siblings transferred their interests in the property to her. Hazel <br />Harris continued to live at 801 Spruce for several more decades. <br />Hazel Harris worked at the University of Colorado as a food manager and retired in 1971. <br />The house at 801 Spruce went by a few different addresses over the years. Besides the old address of 303 Spruce, it <br />was also referred to in directories from the 1940s and 1950s as 800 La Farge and 802 La Farge. <br />Of the three Harris girls who grew up in this house, Joan Harris Angell passed away in 1984 and Eileen Harris <br />Schmidt died in 1998. Eileen Schmidt was the volunteer director of the Louisville Historical Museum for several years <br />before her death. Nadine Caranci lives in Louisville. <br />Hazel Zarini Harris died in 2000. In 2001, 801 Spruce was conveyed by her heirs to Christopher Lee Melvin, who <br />transferred it to Advanced Building & Restoration LLC in 2005. The current owners are listed as Randy D. & Angela <br />Rose. <br />36.
