General Architectural Description <br />The Bradt House is a modest one-story, wood -frame, dwelling <br />with a side -gabled rectangular plan. Located on the north <br />side of Walnut Street, this property is situated in the block <br />east of the railroad tracks, east of downtown Louisville. The <br />house is supported by a low concrete foundation, with a <br />bulkhead cellar entrance located on the west elevation. The <br />exterior walls are non -original wide horizontal masonite <br />siding, with painted white 1" by 6" corner boards. The roof <br />is a moderately -pitched side gable, with a gabled and shed <br />roofed extension to the north (rear). The <br />i s covered <br />ed with <br />black asphalt shingles, and the roof eaves are boxed. There <br />are no chimneys. Window patterns include 1/1 double -hung <br />sash, and ix1 horizontal sliders, with painted white wood <br />frames and surrounds. A stained natural brown glass -in - <br />wood -frame entry door opens onto a small concrete porch at <br />the west end of the facade (south elevation). A secondary <br />entrance is located on the west elevation. This is a panted <br />white wood -paneled door, with nine upper sash lights, which <br />opens onto a small concrete porch. <br />A Garage is located northwest of the house. This building <br />has a concrete slab foundation and floor, painted brown <br />concrete block walls, and a low-pitched front gable roof, <br />with asphalt shingles and exposed rafter ends. Single 2- <br />light windows are located on the north and west elevations. <br />A painted brown wood -paneled roll -away garage door, <br />located on the south elevation, opens onto a concrete <br />driveway which extends to Walnut Street to the south. <br />29.Construction History (include description and dates of major additions, <br />alterations, or demolitions: <br />Boulder County Assessor records indicate that this house was <br />built at the turn of the twentieth century. Sanborn insurance <br />maps are unavailable for this area of Louisville. <br />23.
