General Architectural Description <br />The Guenzi House is located at the southwest corner of Walnut <br />Street and Lee Avenue, in the eastern part of Louisville. In <br />addition to the house, the property also consists of two garages, <br />both located east of the residence. The house is a single -story <br />wood -frame dwelling, supported by a low concrete foundation. <br />The house's exterior walls have been cladded with horizontal <br />aluminum siding, and the roof is an intersecting hip and gable, <br />grey asphalt shingles and boxed eaves. A red brick chimney is <br />located on the interior of the west elevation. Windows on the <br />house are 1/1 and 2/2 double -hung sash, with painted white wood <br />frames and surrounds, and with aluminum storm windows. Two <br />painted white wood -paneled doors, with aluminum storm doors, <br />open onto concrete sidewalks on the house's north and west <br />elevations. <br />A two -car Garage is located west of the house. This is a wood <br />frame structure, supported by a concrete slab foundation and floor. <br />The garage's exterior walls are painted white horizontal masonite <br />siding, and the roof is a moderately -pitched front gable, with green <br />asphalt shingles and boxed eaves. There is one lxl horizontal <br />sliding window, located on the south elevation. A painted white <br />wood -paneled door, with nine upper sash lights, and with a wood <br />screen door, opens onto a concrete stoop, on the east elevation. <br />A painted white wood -paneled roll -away garage door opens <br />toward Walnut Street on the building's north elevation. <br />A much older single -car Garage is located just to the west of the <br />larger garage. This structure has a wood timbers on grade <br />foundation, and painted white horizontal weatherboard walls, with <br />1" by 4" corner boards. The roof is a moderately -pitched front <br />gable, with green asphalt shingles over lx wood decking and 2x <br />wood rafters. There are no windows. Paired, painted white, <br />vertical wood plank garage doors open toward Walnut Street on <br />the north elevation. A single, painted white wood -paneled door is <br />located at the south end of the east elevation. <br />29.Construction History (include description and dates of major additions, <br />alterations, or demolitions: <br />Boulder County Assessor records indicate that this house was <br />constructed in 1910. Sanborn insurance maps are not available <br />for this area of Louisville. The single -car garage appears to date <br />from the 1920s or 1930s. The two -car garage is much newer. It <br />probably dates to the 1970s or 1980s. <br />23. Landscape or setting special features: <br />This property is located at the southwest <br />corner of Walnut Street and Lee Avenue, in the <br />eastern part of Louisville.
