DEJONG, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />SUMMARY: <br />The BRaD Committee at their October meeting requested a discussion about the signage <br />regulations in town. <br />The City Planning Department has initiated a comprehensive update to the Commercial and <br />Industrial Development Design Standards and Guidelines and the Sign Code. Commercial <br />development in the City of Louisville is reviewed in accordance with the Commercial <br />Development Design Standards and Guidelines (CDDSG) and Industrial Development is <br />reviewed in accordance with the Industrial Development Design Standards and Guidelines <br />(IDDSG). The City has recently adopted two small area plans, The South Boulder Road <br />Small Area Plan and the McCaslin Boulevard Small Area Plan, both of which include a <br />directive to prepare design guidelines for each area included in these plans. <br />Currently, signs in the City of Louisville are regulated by: <br />• Louisville Municipal Code, Chapter 17.24 — Signs <br />• Commercial Development Design Standards <br />• Industrial Development Design Standards <br />• Downtown Louisville Sign Manual <br />• Numerous Planned Unit Developments <br />Modified signage regulations are planned to be drafted for input and ultimately <br />considered by the City Council for adoption. These signage regulations, along with <br />modifications to the CDDSG and IDDSG will be coming to BRaD at a future meeting <br />when they are ready for review. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Rob Zuccaro will be available to discuss the process and get input from the Committee <br />regarding possible changes to the current sign regulations. <br />BRAD COMMUNICATION <br />
