ILZCitvtf
Louisville
COLORADO - SINCE 1878
FINANCE COMMITTEE
COMMUNICATION
SUBJECT:
DATE:
NON-PROFIT FUNDING REQUESTS FOR 2019 & 2020
NOVEMBER 19, 2018
PRESENTED BY: KEVIN WATSON, FINANCE DEPARTMENT
SUMMARY:
The Recommended 2019-2020 Operating & Capital Budget includes $35,000 for
grants/contributions to non-profit agencies for each year. Of that amount, $5,000 is
reserved for the Utility Billing Assistance Program in partnership with Sister Carmen. The
remaining $30,000 is available for distribution as part of the Non -Profit Grant Program.
Staff has checked with Sister Carmen and they have approximately $7,500 currently left
in their Utility Billing Assistance Program account.
The table on the following page shows the actual grants from the City of Louisville to non-
profit agencies for 2015 through 2018. The final two columns contain funding requests
for 2019 and 2020.
Attached are copies of the applications received by the Finance Department. However,
the attachments do not include copies of the applicants' Internal Revenue Service letters
on 501(c)(3) status. The complete applications, with all information received from the
applicants, are available for review in the Finance Department.
Staff hopes to receive the Committee's recommendations and will then present those to
the full City Council for final approval in January/February. The disbursement of funds
will be made in February/March.
FINANCE COMMITTEE COMMUNICATION
10
