He noted <br />the proposals include an annual increase and staff recommends using the Denver, <br />Aurora, Lakewood consumer price index. <br />Councilmember Loo noted the Republic embedded cost for 32-gallon is $3.91 which is a <br />30% price differential between the bids at that size. <br />Councilmember Stolzmann asked if woody material from bushes could be in the bin or <br />must be separated in Republic's bid. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lipton noted five years ago the discussion was if there is additional <br />sorting needed for woody materials it will reduce the amount of participation. Director <br />Kowar stated that was true and the Committee discussed this heavily and felt the <br />difference in value outweighed the convenience factor. <br />
