Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />10/4/18 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Volunteer Projects <br />• February <br />o Tulip Twist — The Tulip Twist was 2/2 and went very well! <br />• March <br />o No St Patty's Day Dinner — This year, there will not be a St Patty's <br />Day Dinner, so instead Addie suggested that we could run a booth <br />at the Monarch 8th grade transition night on Feb 1 9th <br />• April <br />o Community Table? — Kaylix is going to get in contact with <br />community table to set up a volunteer project in April. <br />Transportation Project — <br />• 8th Grade Transition Night — Addie talked to Principal Neil Anderson at <br />Monarch High School who said that we could set up a booth at the 8th <br />grade transition night on Feb. 19th. The counseling department also said <br />that they would like to have a stack of fliers to pass out. Addie said that <br />she would draft an email to an RTD representative to ask for some fliers <br />and possibly an RTD staff member to come to the 8th grade transition <br />night and run the booth. <br />• Parent Letter — Jessica talked about how the FlexRide letter will get to <br />parents. Mandy suggested sending the letter out before the 8th grade <br />transition night if possible. <br />• Schoology Post — Addie and Kaylix said that they would talk to a teacher <br />at Monarch about getting a post about FlexRide on Monarch High <br />School's Schoology page <br />• Instagram Post — As the Instagram posts cost money, the board decided <br />not to make a Instagram advertisement. <br />• Other Ideas — The board talked about getting fliers to other middle <br />schools in Louisville to continue to advertise the FlexRide. <br />April Presentation To City Council - Tuesday April 23rd will be the day that the <br />YAB will present to the City Council about what we have done this year. Kaylix <br />said that she would work on the slideshow. <br />2019 YAB Recruitment Plan — Mandy talked about how the YAB has recruited <br />new members in the past. She talked about changing the recruitment timeline to <br />early September. The board members talked about talking to honor societies <br />about advertising the Youth Advisory Board, as well as talking to their friends <br />about applying. <br />
