One Week Prior to Burn <br />1. Collaborate with Public Works to place road signs on South Boulder Road and McCaslin <br />Blvd. to educate public of upcoming prescribed fire. <br />2. Update signage with fire schedule and on Davidson Mesa Open Space, Harper Lake <br />Open Spaces, Louisville/Superior Park and Ride, Table Mesa Park and Ride, and Marshall <br />Mesa Trailhead. <br />3. Post alternative trail route information and map for trail commuters. <br />4. Place electronic sign board at the McCaslin entrance to Davidson Mesa Open Space in <br />order to notify residents of prescribed fire and resulting property closure. <br />5. Post over -highway content on US HWY 36 signs notifying drivers of upcoming prescribed <br />fire/smoke if allowed by CDOT. <br />6. Place signage on HWY 36 Bikeway one mile east and west of south-west entrance to <br />Davidson Mesa informing of property closure. <br />7. Update posts made to the City Website and Facebook Pages. <br />Day of Burn <br />1. Close entire property (including the DOLA and underpass) to prevent trespassing while <br />burn is in progress and completely block access to the property using barricades and <br />caution tape across trail and beyond trail corridor to prevent users from going around <br />tape. <br />2. Increase staffing to monitor closure at all trail entrances, including designated and social <br />trails. <br />3. Place signage at all entrance points informing users of property closure due to burning. <br />4. Update electronic sign board at the HWY US 36, South Boulder Road and McCaslin Blvd., <br />of prescribed fire in progress and to expect smoke. <br />5. Update electronic sign board at entrance to Davidson Mesa Open Space in order to <br />notify residents of prescribed fire and resulting property closure. <br />6. Post closure signage on HWY 36 Bikeway connection to Davidson Mesa Open Space. <br />7. Contact Boulder County Communications Center, Louisville administrative staff, and <br />Louisville Police Department to inform of the prescribed fire so that they may address <br />any subsequent reports or 911 calls. <br />8. Update posts made to the City Website and Facebook Pages. <br />Next Steps: <br />Staff will compile OSAB recommendations for improvement, discuss these recommendations <br />with the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space, the City Manager, and the City's <br />communication professionals and determine which improvements to incorporate into the 2019 <br />Prescribed Fire Outreach Plan. <br />12 <br />
