Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
September 24, 2018
Page5of5
Zuccaro stated that there were updates in the staff packet, including a stay on 721 La
Farge that expired on July 8th. Alteration certificates included a front door and several
roofs.
Upcoming Schedule
There may not be a meeting on October 15th.
Haley asked Zuccaro to update the Commission on the reauthorization of the Historic
Preservation Fund.
Zuccaro replied that the tax code update had already been adopted, so there was no
immediate deadline. However, there was also a review ahead for rewriting the relevant
building code and funding ordinances, including the grant and loan programs. The
timeline was for the last quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2019.
UPDATES FROM COMMISSION
None.
DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETINGS
Dickinson asked if there could be more transparency on the subcommittee approvals for
alteration certificates and demolition reviews.
Haley asked if he wanted something different than the staff updates. She stated that
they used to go over every single one every meeting and decided as a Commission not
to continue that process. The updates were enumerated in staff packets each month.
Dickinson thought that was sufficient, especially as the packet was available to the
public as well.
Ulm asked if staff could ask questions on the spot at meetings about specific approvals.
Zuccaro stated that when Selvoski and commissioners had been involved in the
approval process, they could answer those questions.
Adjourn:
Cyndi Thomas moved to adjourn. Chuck Thomas seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 7:11 PM.
