g <br />Cityof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Staff put together potential scenarios for both emissions reductions and renewables goal setting for <br />municipal and community -wide. Goals were also compared to surrounding communities (Lafayette, <br />Lakewood and Longmont), as well as Boulder County. <br />After further discussion with Council Liaisons and City staff, proposed goals were recommended. Staff <br />has started to analyze potential strategies and their feasibility/cost for the goals and will present <br />findings to City Council in July. <br />Goal Setting Timeline <br />May: Initial discussion with Council Liaisons <br />June: LSAB update provided by Staff <br />July: Council presentation/adoption by City staff, direction from Council on proposed goals and <br />potential strategies and their feasibility/cost. <br />Proposed Goals <br />Municipal: <br />• Meet all of the City of Louisville's municipal electricity needs with 100% carbon -free sources by <br />2025. (28% gap in 5 years) <br />• Reduce core municipal greenhouse gas emissions annually from the 2016 baseline through <br />2025. <br />Community -wide: <br />• Generate 75% of Louisville's residential and commercial electricity from carbon -free sources by <br />2030. (17% gap in 10 years) <br />• Reduce core community -wide greenhouse gas emissions annually from the 2016 baseline <br />through 2030. <br />Next Steps <br />None.
