RESOLUTION NO 22 <br />SERIES 2019 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS <br />PLAN FOR BOULDER COUNTY, CITY OF BOULDER, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS & <br />SPECIAL DISTRICTS, 2017 EDITION <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S § 24-33 5-707(1), each political subdivision of the state <br />shall be within the jurisdiction of, and served by, a local or interjurisdictional agency responsible <br />for disaster preparedness and coordination of response, and <br />WHEREAS, the Boulder Office of Emergency Management ("BOEM") is a joint office <br />of the City of Boulder and Boulder County, established by cooperative agreement on February 15, <br />2005, and <br />WHEREAS, BOEM has promulgated the Emergency Operations Plan for Boulder County, <br />City of Boulder, Local Governments & Special Districts, 2017 edition ("Boulder EOP"), which <br />describes the structure and guidelines for managing a major emergency or disaster affecting the <br />City of Boulder and/or Boulder County; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the Boulder EOP, a municipality within Boulder <br />County may choose to participate in the Boulder EOP by signature of the municipality's principal <br />executive officer; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the City's best interest, and will promote <br />the public safety and welfare of the current and future residents and property owners within the <br />City's boundaries, for the City to adopt and participate in the Boulder EOP, and to submit to the <br />jurisdiction of BOEM to serve as the interjurisdictional agency responsible for disaster <br />preparedness and coordination of response within the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO• <br />Section 1. The City Council hereby approves and adopts the Emergency Operations Plan <br />for Boulder County, City of Boulder, Local Governments & Special Districts, 2017 edition, as may <br />be amended from time to time (the "Plan") <br />Section 2.
