RESOLUTION NO. 06 <br />SERIES 2018 <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR A HISTORICAL RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE <br />LOCATED ON 1021 MAIN STREET <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a landmark eligibility determination for a <br />historical residential structure located on 1021 Main Street, on property legally described as <br />Lot 5-6, Block 1, Barclay Place, Town of Louisville, City of Louisville, State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the HPC have reviewed the application and found it to <br />be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section <br />15.36.050.A, establishing criteria for landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the proposed <br />landmark application; and <br />WHEREAS, 1021 Main Street (DiSalvo House) has social significance because it <br />exemplifies the cultural, political, economic or social heritage of the community considering <br />its association with the DiSalvo Family from Italy; and <br />WHEREAS, the DiSalvo House has architectural significance because it is a <br />vernacular structure with Folk Victorian decorative features that is representative of the built <br />environment in early 20th century Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, the shed located along the alley of the property is not included in this <br />landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC finds that these and other characteristics specific to the DiSalvo <br />House have social and architectural significance as described in Section 15.36.050.A of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The application to landmark the Harney House be approved for the following reasons: <br />1. Architectural integrity of the vernacular structure with Folk Victorian details. <br />2.
