SUBJECT: <br />OPEN SPACE MANAGEMENT <br />DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 2019 <br />PAGE4OF4 <br />satisfactory level to encourage recreation and to enable safe walking, running, and bike <br />riding around Louisville" <br />OPEN SPACE MISSION: To conserve and restore Open Space through land <br />acquisition and management for the protection of natural and cultural resources and <br />provide opportunities for education, volunteering and appropriate passive recreation. <br />OPEN SPACE VISION: An Open Space program funded for future generations that <br />enriches the experience of living in Louisville by providing opportunities for citizens to <br />reconnect with nature and their cultural heritage while also enhancing their mental and <br />physical well-being. <br />Program enhancements will impact both operational and capital budgets. Fiscal <br />impacts will be developed following project refinement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The MOST Working Group will report monthly to the full Open Space Advisory Board for <br />further discussion of and guidance on this work with OSAB, the community, PPLAB and <br />staff to brainstorm, identify and formalize proposed priorities and goals for future Open <br />Space management over the next six months as well as budget implications. MOST <br />and OSAB will provide regular progress briefings to City Council via memo and <br />presentations. City Council will provide direction and feedback to OSAB via the City <br />Council Liaison to OSAB and at City Council meetings on future implementation. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
