City Council Utility Committee
Meeting Minutes
Friday, September 13, 2019
said for the most part it's having to get used to the change. Councilmember
Maloney asked what the generalization was on the carts. Mr. Kowar said the
change in size and mostly to the compost; once they heard it was included in the
price. Committee discussed how we went through this when we switched to
Western Disposal also and had no other comments.
XI. Update — Water Resources
Councilmember Stolzmann stated we discussed Windy Gap already and asked
Mr. Peterson to update us on the Water Supply.
• Water Supply Update — Mr. Peterson states everything is good there. So
he jumped into updating our Coal Ridge shares saying he negotiated a
general deal for possible sale of shares for a combination of cash, water
rights and easements. Mr. Peterson thinks there is a good opportunity
but wanted to make sure the Committee was in favor of starting the
negotiations. The Committee was in favor if the deal allowed for better
use of water rights but was not interested in simply a cash sale.
XII. Upcoming Projects and Council Action
• CIP Update
• SCWTP Disinfection CM and Construction — Sept 17t"
• Windy Gap Financing - TBD
XIII. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
