No.''72. , <br /> 1 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO • <br /> THE USE OF AUTOMOBILES AND <br /> OTHER VEHICLES. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD <br /> OF TRUSTEES OF THE `TOWN O'F- <br /> LOUISVILLE, STATE OF C'OLO- <br /> RADO:— • <br /> - <br /> . Section 1. That is shall be unlawful <br /> for any person to drive any automobile <br /> upon the streets or alleys of the Town <br /> of Louisville, within the limits of the <br /> business district, as hereinafter defined, <br /> at a speed exceeding ten miles per hour, <br /> or upon any street crossing within said 1 <br /> district at a speed exceeding six miles <br /> per hour. It shall be unlawful for any <br /> person to drive any automobile upon <br /> the streets or alleys of the Town of <br /> Louisville outside the limits of said <br /> business district at a speed exceeding • , <br /> fifteen miles per hour, or, if the way is <br /> not clear, at a speed exceeding ten miles <br /> per hour. <br /> Section 2. That, at all places where <br /> necessary, sufficient,, warning shall be I <br /> (given of the approach of any auto- <br /> mobile, 'by horn or other adequate I <br /> means. <br /> Section 3.,That no automobile. unless <br /> some competent person be present at the <br /> time and in charge thereof, shall be I <br /> left standing upon any street, alley or <br /> • other public place within the Town of 1 <br /> Louisville with its engine running. 1 <br /> Section 4. That upon all 'automobiles <br /> driven upon any street, alley or other I <br /> public Place 'within the Town of Louis-1 <br /> ville after darif',two front'light-'sand ones'- I <br /> rear light (red) ""shalt: be` displayed; <br /> provided that upon motor 'cycles only <br /> one light shall be requiredi'. <br /> Section 5. That it shall ,be qinlawful <br /> for the owner of any automobile to per- <br /> mit the same to be driven upon the <br /> streets, alleys or other public place of <br /> the Town of Louisville, by any person <br /> 11Inger the age of seventeen years, un- <br /> less a,ccompained by and under the su- <br /> pervision of some competent person <br /> I above that age. <br /> Section 6.' That for the purpose of <br /> I this ordinance, the expression "business <br /> i district" shall be a deemed to mean all <br /> that part of Front street between the <br /> south limits of said Town of Louisville <br /> and Caledonia street on- "the north, <br /> thence west on said Caledonia'street to <br /> Second street; thence south on Second II <br /> street to the south limits of said Town: <br /> together with all the intersecting and <br /> uniting streets within said limits and <br /> including said streets herein mentioned <br /> 1 and as described., <br /> Section 7. That for the purpose of <br /> this ordinance the term "automobile" <br /> shall be deemed to include any vehicle <br /> propelled by an engine or motor con- <br /> tained within or forming a part of such <br /> vehicle, expressly. including what are 1 <br /> commonly designated "motor cycles." <br /> Section 8. That.all vehicles, whether <br /> automobiles, •carriages, bicycles or any <br /> I other conveyance, ridden or driven up- <br /> on the streets, alleys and other public <br /> places within the Town of Louisville, <br /> 'shall observe the' following If regulation..1. All such,vehicles when meeting ' <br /> shall turn to the right. <br /> 2. Any such vehicle in passing an- 1 <br /> other from the rear shall turn out to <br /> the left. <br /> 3. At all street crossings,,all such ve- <br /> hicles, whether turning the corner or <br /> crossing the street,, shall keep-"to the l right of the point of intersecting of the <br /> center lines of the intersecting streets. <br /> Section 9. That any person who shall <br /> violate any provision of this ordinance <br /> shall be deemed guilty of a misdemean- <br /> or and upon conviction shall be fined 1 <br /> not'less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more <br /> . than one hundred dollars ($100.00)„ or be <br /> imprisoned not less than one day nor <br /> more than sixty days. <br /> • Introduced, read and ordered published <br /> this, 6th day of July; A.
