ORDINANCE NO. 241 <br /> AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF DEPUTY MARSHALL AND PROVIDING FOR <br /> THE SALARY OF SAID DEPUTY MARSHALL. <br /> Be IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF LOUISVILLE; <br /> Section 1. The Board of Trustees finds and declares that an <br /> emergency exists with reference to police protection of theTown of <br /> Louisville, that a-contingency which could not have been reasonably <br /> foreseen at the time of adopting of the budget of the Town of Louisville <br /> has arisen in that the Town cannot find and employ competent officers <br /> who are willing to work twelve hour shifts, seven days a week as <br /> police officers and that in order to obtain competent police officers, <br /> an additional officer must be employed wo that there will be trhee <br /> officers and the average shift of each officer can be reduced below <br /> twelve hours. <br /> Section 2. There is hereby created the office of Deputy Marshal. <br /> Said Deputy Marshall shall have the usual powers of a police officer, <br /> and shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him. Said duties <br /> shall include police duties and such duties in connection with the <br /> water system and supply as are necessary to facilitate the continuous <br /> operation of the water system, including inspection of said system and <br /> looking after the filters and the flushing and changing the same. <br /> Section 3. The salary of the Deputy Marshalll shall be 4195.00 <br /> IIper month, payable at the same time and in the same manner as other <br /> salaries of police officers are paid. <br /> Section 4. For the fiscal year beginning in 1948, the following <br /> transfer of dunds shall be made: <br /> From the contingent fund $ 740.00 <br /> From the Water fund tan 0.00 <br /> From the Parks and Improvement fund-Ts: 405.00 <br /> It is found that said amounts From each of said funds will not be <br /> needed for expenditures during the` Balance of the fiscal year and said <br /> amounts shall be transferred from said funds to the fund from which <br /> the salaries of police officers are paid. <br /> Section 5. The Board of Trustees hereby Binds, determines and <br /> declares that this ordinance i2 necessary for the immediate preservation <br /> of the public peace, health and safety and that an emergency exists. <br /> Therefore this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br /> after its passage. <br /> agmes Hindman, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> John A.
