Special Events Permit Application -Citizens Community TV -
Steinbaugh Pavilion -Waterloo Icehouse Birthday Celebration - 9/1/08
Chairperson Rommelfanger stated this was not a formal hearing; however, the
Authority had some questions for the applicant.
Barbara Butterworth, Board Member of Citizens Community TV (CCTV) and
Lewis Karp, owner of the Waterloo Icehouse introduced themselves to the
Authority.
Questions were answered about the number of attendees expected at the event
as well as the number of security staff expected to be on hand.
Attorney Light asked for clarification on the sponsorship of the event. Mr. Karp
responded a local radio station, the Boulder Weekly and CCTV. He stated a
portion of the net proceeds would go to CCTV.
Chairperson Rommelfanger reminded Ms. Butterworth the responsibility for the
liquor service belongs to CCTV. She stated the board members of CCTV had
talked at length about this fact.
Discussion by the Authority Members continued on concerns about the space
and whether it was adequate for the number of attendees expected, the security
issues and the involvement of both CCTV and Waterloo Icehouse.
Authority Member Wilson mentioned she felt Waterloo Icehouse had been a
great addition to downtown Louisville and she wished them luck with their event.
